Hi, I’d like to update the thread:
I’m working only with MED files and I don’t know if this applies to any other format. If I want to reload a file, using reload function in Paravis, I’m loosing possibility to see results in vewport. All data is present in pipeline browser, but I can’t see anything in 3D. The only way I found to deal with the problem is deleting all the work from pipeline and manually reopen the file.
This applies to:
Salome 9.10,
Salome 9.11,
Salome 9.12,
Paraview 5.12,
Paraview 5.13 (both use the same MEDReaderPlugin as in Salome).
Kitware is saying this is MEDReaderPlugin fault.
It seems it works in Salome 9.13

Who is working on integration MED reader with Paraview/Paravis?
I just tested and I have the issue with version 9.10 but not in 9.13 (Windows and Linux).
I also tested with version 9.14, that will be published soon, and I don’t have the issue.

If you are a developer, please test it on two, three more Windows machines. You know the usual IT joke while answering a support call: “yes, yes, I understand you have a problem, but it works on my side”.
I’ll record a video and share it, so you will be able maybe somehow to trace the issue.

I confirm that if I click first the “Restore application default setting values” then the result disappear from the view.
Hi. Yes, this thread was referring to v9.11 and I wanted to stress that in 9.13 it also doesn’t work.
The problem lies somewhere in loosing connection between results and paraview/paravis. It’s also happening in standalone Paraview 5.13.2 (tested yesterday)
Moreover, loading state sometimes does the same thing.
Sometimes when this error shows up, clicking anything in pipeline browser causes a crash. A workaround is to reset session, but you have to do everything from scratch.
I was advised to save state, but as I said, loading it causes the same problem (crash). It’s very often.
If I close and reopen a study hdf file and go stright to paravis, clicking anything in pipeline browser causes a crash also.
I see the same errors. Everything is caused by or connected to vtkMEDreader.
I also noticed when you activate “interactive select cells” or “interactive select points” cells and points get highlighted, but they are offset a lot from the area you are pointing.
The same goes for show gauss points filter. All the points are offset from the model and some of them are not even on the mesh.
What about 9.14 on Windows? Is this also happening?
