Solid object movement (Punch press)

Topic dedicated to objects contacts

Someone can guide me on how to perform a continously moving object interacting with another or refer me to an existing article about the programming?, my main goal is to simulate a punch press operation

Hi Fabrizio, Salome is a pre/post software. If you want to impose a motion you need to find results using solver. So in Salome you may prepare your model, mesh it and see the results. The rest is done elsewhere.

Thank you Krzysztof, do you think looking into Code_Aster this kind of motion can be achived?

If you are thinking about forming tools without cutting - I can say it’s possible. If you are thinking about cutting holes by punch and die - it’s more complicated and I have no idea if it’s possible. If you think about time-dependent rapid dynamic simulation - it’s possible, but I’m not the best person to give you advice on that.

Please start with the simplest static analysis in Salome_Meca and progress towards your goal. I think along the way you’ll be able to decide on your own if C_A is for you or if you need some other tool.

More specific C_A questions is better to place on C_A forum.
