I recently succeeded in installing Salome 9.13.0 native Debian 12 on Debian 12 system (XFCE window manager, not Gnome/Wayland which is another issue reported in this forum).
I used the sat procedure described in the the README file, but installing the suggested packages does not work out of the box. Please find below my tips in order for Salome to launch.
First, installing the whole “runtime” list does not work, as the two following packages fftw
and libtiff5
do not exist (it is instead libfftw3_double3 and libtiff6).
Second, this is not sufficient in order to launch Salome. The following (first) error message occurs:
SALOME_Session_Server_No_Server: error while loading shared libraries: libboost_system.so.1.74.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
In order to fix this, it is sufficient to install the second “compilation” list of suggested packages.
I hope this will help.
Best regards,
Loïc Chevallier.
