looking for some functions in python from the documentation sometimes can be difficult to find them, especially functions that are not kept while using the dump function. such as display options.
paraview has the option to “growing” trace where the python script is created at the same time as the user uses the interface. this will help to find some functions that are quite niche, or that are difficult to find in the documentation. for example changing the color of an object, displaying it or hiding it, I have spend my last 20 minutes looking for the python function to hide the trihedron of OCC and VTK scene (without succes…)
this would be a great tool for users.
and this could be complementary to the dump function, as the dump function will keep the main things “to make it work” and the other one would do everything.
