I am a beginner and in need for some help.
I’ve created a disk in Salome Geometry that I partitioned into halves. I now need to separate the faces to work with only half the domain / one face with the option Explode where i need to select the disk and then one half to separate them in the main tree of objects on the left. In option Explode, I can’t select only one face with my mouse. The whole partition can only be selected.
Can someone please help? What is the problem here?
Explode will make the internal objects of the selected object usable independently. For example you need to use explode over it with type faces and this will create the objects on the object tree of the faces and then you can work with them.

This is the process that I have done, selected the main object that I am working with, changed the sub-shape type into face, ticked the select sub-shapes box. Now I need to hover over and click on one face that I have. Problem is, that nothing happens when I click.
In the tutorial, when clicked, the face gets selected and after box apply gets clicked, faces seperate in the object tree.
Next time publish what are you following as guide it is impossible to follow you from the text.
You select the compound that has two faces. You use explode tool and select explode in faces this will create in the object browser n objects for each face. You can select that face by clicking it in the object browser and continue from there.

i can’t post a tutorial because of its private nature.
anyway, the problem is in the selection part. i’ve come around the problem in explode function, but now i have to group parts of the pipe i’m working on, i encounter the same problem.
i just can’t click on a part so it appears selected, when clicked, nothing happens. i don’t know if i am again being clear or not. in the tutorial, when you click on the pipes cylinder, for example, a line forms around it so you know its selected and you can go further from that. when i do it, nothing happens.
it’s like i am, for example, clicking in a sentence in a paragraph in word and the blinking line doesn’t appear, for comparison. basic functionality is off.
It’s hard to say much with so little information. Generally in explode, you select the geometry and then specify how you want to break it down. For example, compsolids can be split into solids, and solids can be further broken down into shells, faces, and so on. That’s essentially how it works. A face, however, cannot be exploded into another face. It can only come from a shell or solid.
I’ve come to the end with it, my software does not work properly. The problem wasn’t in functions.
